Biodiversity

Flora: 804 taxa were determined at the species, subspecies and variety level belonging to 95 families. The element content of taxa is Mediterranean Element 163, Eastern Mediterranean element 159, Euro-Siberian element 33, Iran-Turan element 12 and Endemic species 30.

Although the peninsula is located in the Mediterranean flora region, there are significant numbers of Euro-Siberian group species. In the Mediterranean scrub flora, there are the healthiest specimens as well as all plant species. It is the only place where Anatolian chestnut, which is native to the North Anatolian forests, and   juniper, Oak b, which are rare in Turkey, grow in small groups.

In the North, red pine, larch,juniper, , oak, chestnut, maple, linden, ash tree; In the valleys, species such as oriental plane ; In the south, there are rich Mediterranean flora species such as carob, heather, common myrtle, Greek strawberry tree, laurel, pistacia, arcana, redbud and mule nail. Also in the field; It is found in plants such as sumac, thyme, sage ..

Fauna: It has been determined by researchers that the caves on the southern coast of Dilek Peninsula are still used by Mediterranean Seals.

Wild boar, caracal, lynx, jackal, hyena, abandoned wild cattle and horses and many animal species are found in the peninsula fauna.

Dwarf Cormorant, whose extinction is under threat, lives in the Büyük Menderes delta.  Pelicans, whose total number is estimated at 3000 pairs in the world, breed on islets in the Carina lagoon. Lesser egret, lesser kestrel and whitetail eagle are among the important breeding species.

Sea meadows, which are an indication of the cleanness of the sea, are also found around the peninsula. Various kinds of algae, cephalopods from the octopus family, sea urchins and starfish, sponges and many fish species such as bream, bream, kingfish, bream, mullet, sea bream live in this environment.
