Biodiversity

Flora: In addition to the maquis formation, olive groves also have an important place. In addition, Red Pine (Pinus brutia) and sweetgum forests (Liquidambar orientalis) are of great value in the Region. This is done with needle trees such as larch, pistachio, cedar and juniper; trees with leaves such as oaks follow. In addition, there are trees and shrubs such as sandalwood, pyrene, maple, laurel, hackberry and carob.

Fauna: Dovetail, quail, wood partridge, cormorant, heron, shepherdsucker, swallow, woodpecker, starling, blackbird, swamp, crow, kite, freckle, mallard, wild goose, mountain sparrow, eagle, among the poultry found in almost every part of the region. There are hawks, hawks and owls.

The coasts are also rich in marine fauna. All of the fish species and other seafood (octopus, lobster, carabide) found in the region are found in the local waters. In addition, it has been determined that Otter (Lutra lutra) and dolphin fish live in the northern parts of the Gökova coast.
